Razer launches Razer Surround for Windows

The peripherals-maker continues its expansion into the gaming-focused PC utility space.

Razer's just added a new PC gaming utlity alongside its Razer Game Booster, and Razer Comms. Razer Surround is a new sound app that offers customisable, and personalised 7.1 surround sound over stereo speakers.
Razer Surround walks users through a series of listening tests, thus customising the virtual 7.1 sound to individual ears and hearing levels, and different headphones. The app also features complete presets for all of Razer's own headsets. It can boost in-game voice communications, and stores all calibration data online. With a Razer Synapse login, you can access your own presets from anywhere.
The software is made up of a number of in-house Razer-patented algorithms based off development for its Megalodon headsets, Razer's Min-Liang Tan told us, but the core of the application is based on military technologies licensed by Razer.
Military-grade comms? We'll give that a try.
