IObit Advanced SystemCare 7.0 beta 1.0 now available
IObit has unveiled the first beta of Advanced SystemCare 7.0, its comprehensive PC maintenance suite.
While you might have thought it had more than enough features before,
that’s not stopped the company cramming even more into this new release.
A new Program Deactivator tool disables startup entries and scheduled tasks for programs you’re not using, for instance, saving system resources without the hassle of uninstalling them in full.
New Surfing Protection technology “supports real-time database update and parent control for safer surfing”, says the company, while there’s a new function to protect your browser home and search pages from malicious modification.
Better support for Windows 8 sees the junk file deletion tool able to clean up Windows 8 apps.
There are various improvements to the duplicate file finder, malware removal tools, Registry and Vulnerability Fix modules, Disk Explorer, Turbo Boost module and more.
The AutoClean function will now be included in the free edition, allowing all users to have their systems optimised automatically.
And this is all presented in a new interface, which IObit says has been optimised “for easier and smoother use”.
None of this seems overly compelling at a first look. The Program Deactivator tool did nothing useful in our initial tests. Surfing Protection’s “parent control” turns out to be the ability to block specific URLs only, and revamped or not, it’s still far from easy to find the options you need.
