NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti Unveiled – Benchmark Results Exposed, Faster Than The GTX 660 By 10%

A few weeks ago, we detailed that NVIDIA could possibly be working on a new mainstream card called the GeForce GTX 750 Ti, to tackle AMD’s latest Radeon R7 lineup. Well, the report was true as PCEVA has received such a card from a local Chinese manfacutrer and have tested it in a few benchmarks showcasing that the specs we saw weeks back were legit.

The GeForce GTX 750 Ti GPU would feature a revised GK106 core equipped with  960 Cores, 32 ROP and 80 TMUs ,running at 1033 MHz base and 1098 MHz boost speeds which matches some of the factory overclocked GeForce GTX 660 Ti’s. The most interesting part is that the card actually comes with a 256-bit memory interface with 2 GB VRAM. This is quiet an update over the 192-bit interface featured on almost every GK106 based GeForce 600 series, the clock remains at the standard 6 GHz effective speed churning out 192.3 GB/s bandwidth.

NVIDIA’s AIB partners would have the freedom to release all the custom models they want at around the same range as the official pricing which would be set to compete against the sub-$199 market which is entirely going to be dominated by AMD’s mainstream and entry level Radeon R7 lineup. There are reports that GeForce GTX 750 Ti may not only be the only card NVIDIA may be working in as more are planned in its pipeline including a highend variant based on the GK110 core - GeForce GTX 770 Ti which would compete against the Radeon R9 290 Hawaii Pro graphics card.

As for performance, the card looks real nice would a performance advantage of 10% over GeForce GTX 660 which has the same specifications but lower ROPs and a 192-bit interface. The GeForce GTX 660 Ti on the other hand is around 5% faster but we can see overclocked models closing the difference gap so overall, we are looking at a solid mainstream performer. The GPU would be supplied power through a single 6-Pin connector and supports two-way SLI. You can see the benchmarks below along with the specifications table:
