Rumor: Watch Dogs Release Date Revealed – Coming Late March

Watch Dogs was originally planned to be released as the launch title for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but Ubisoft delayed the game back to release somewhere in 2014. Ubisoft did not give any reason for the delay initially, but the developer recently said that the game was not ready for launch, it had some issues and needed more polishing. Although the developer said that if the game had released as the launch title for next-gen consoles, it would have been the highest rated next-gen game.

Ubisoft did not provide any specific launch date for its open world action-adventure game Watch Dogs after delaying it, but only that the game would hit the store in second quarter of 2014. Now ShopTo, an online retailer claims to know the precise Watch Dogs release date. A recent listing of all the versions of the game by the retailer mentions March 21, 2014 as the release date of the game
Not only ShopTo claims the release date is precise, the retailer is so confident over its statement that it promises to compensate £5.00 to its customers if it fails to provide them the preordered copy of the game by March 21. At the bottom of the preorder page on the retailer’s website, after explaining the process of preordering Watch Dogs, ShopTo has this to say under the heading of guarantee, “We are so confident that you will receive Watch Dogs for Friday 21st of March 2014 that if for ANY reason you do not we will compensate you with £5.00 to your account.”

To call it a coincidence, the most anticipated PlayStation 4 game inFamous: Second Son is also coming out on March 21st, and its developers have same thoughts about the game as Ubisoft have for Watch Dogs. It could be that Ubisoft is planning to go up against PlayStation 4′s biggest exclusive so far. Watch Dogs could not be considered any less than the most famous next-gen titles, the game has been in development for more than 5 years and was even not released on its original date because the developers thought it needed more polishing.
