Nvidia Geforce GTX 960 Coming in Late January 2015 – GM206 Core, 4GB Ram and 256 Bit Bus

We have received an update on the elusive GTX 960 front from Sweclockers.com. The card is set to be debuted at the Consumer Electronics Show at Las Vegas in January 2015. The card will feature the GM206 core (which has somehow managed to evade shipping manifests) and will have 4GB of GDDR5 Memory.

Basically, Sweclocker.com states that the card is expected to debut in CES at Las Vegas. However, this will just be a paper launch with the actual launch taking place sometime later in the month (or early next month). The interesting thing to note here is that the GM206 core has somehow managed to evade the shipping manifests over at Zauba.com completely. However, you can find the card in question and also the specs on Zauba which I have pasted below for your convenience:

The card will feature 4GB of GDDR5 Memory and will make use of the 256 Bit Bus interface. These specs vary from the ones quoted by Sweclockers.com which are a 128bit Bus and 2GB of GDDR5 Memory. You can take your pick on which one will make the final cut. Zauba is a rock solid source, as good as the official word, so if it is stating higher specs it could be because exact specs have not been finalized. The sheet also mentions 944 Mhz core clock and 6Ghz Memory clock, although both these things vary over different models. Not much else is mentioned except some display ports and also the fact that that this particular card will come in the reference blower type.

The Consumer Electronics Show at Las Vegas will be starting from the 9th of January so it would be best to keep eyes and ears open on those dates. The GTX 960 is supposed to be the perfect price/performance beast and has been delayed so it doesn’t cut into the sales of the GTX 970. Since Nvidia is still holding out on the GM200, we can only assume that it is waiting for Red to make a move.
