Watch Dogs PC Version Confirmed to Run on Ultra High Settings on a Mid-Range GPU
Watch Dogs is the only game right now that is pulling in more gamers’
attention than anything. Ubisoft’s gem is only a week away from its huge
launch and the gaming side of the internet is already going crazy. The
developer of the game is not saying much as the game is just about to
release but the leaked screenshots,
gameplay videos, GIFs and
details that are emerging throughout the internet are already saying all about the game.
Watch Dogs PC Version will Run on Ultra High Settings on Your Mid-Range Graphics Card
Ubisoft’s third-person shooter open world action-adventure video game
is launching next week for both last and latest generation of consoles
along with PC. Watch Dogs is counted among top video games of 2014. The
game was originally meant to launch last year but Ubisoft Montreal
pushed the game’s release back into this year. The game is a cross-gen
but according to the developer, Watch Dogs is a game that will truly
define the next generation of gaming.
Of course, console gamers are pretty excited for the game, but PC
gamers are more than hungry to run this charm on their sparkling
high-end PCs. The recommended Watch Dogs PC requirements speak about the
density of the game, and it is said that running the game on ultra high
settings is not a job for some mid-range PC. However, according to a
Ubisoft developer, Watch Dogs PC version can go ultra while running on a
med-range GPU.
According to Jonathan Morin,
Creative Director behind Watch Dogs, PC gamers will be able run Watch
Dogs on a PC equipped with a GTX 670, which is a mid-range graphics
card. This confirmation came from Morin’s reply to a fan who asked
whether his GTX 670 4GB will be able to run Watch Dogs on ultra settings
or not.
Okay, I know that GTX 670 is not completely a mid-range graphics card
but if compared to GTX 690 and 760, the card is very slightly below the
charts. The officially listed requirements for running Watch Dogs PC
version on Ultra say that you will need at least a GTX 780 with a Intel
i7 3.5ghz. Here is a quick fact, as far as the clock speeds are
concerned, GTX 670 and GTX 780 are pretty much identical. Below are some
technical details about both graphics cards.
GTX 670:
GPU Engine Specs:
- CUDA Cores: 1344
- Graphics Clock: 915(MHz)
- Processor Clock: 980(MHz)
- Texture Fill Rate: 102.5(billion/sec)
Memory Specs:
- Memory Clock: 6.0 Gbps
- Memory Interface: GDDR5
- Memory Interface Width: 256-bit GDDR5
- Memory Bandwidth: 192.2 (GB/sec)
GTX 780:
Engine Specs:
- CUDA Cores: 2304
- Base Clock: 863(MHz)
- Boost Clock: 900(MHz)
- Texture Fill Rate: 160.5(billion/sec)
Memory Specs:
- Memory Speed: 6.0 Gbps
- Standard Memory Config: 3072 MB
- Memory Interface: GDDR5
- Memory Interface Width: 384-bit
- Memory Bandwidth: 288.4(GB/sec)
Thus far, GPU is not the only thing that you need to run a high-end
game like Watch Dogs on Ultra settings. Other system hardware must also
be up-to-date if you want to enjoy Watch Dogs PC version on your system.
Either way, it is highly likely that the game will perform better on PC
than on any console. Stick around if you want to get more news about PC
version of the game.
