AMD Godavari APU Lineup Leaked – A10-8850K To Lead The Pack, 12 APUs Planned For Summer 2015
AMD’s upcoming Godavari APU lineup has been leaked by VR-Zone
ahead of its launch in summer, this year. The new Godavari APU which
are also known to be part of the Kaveri-Refresh platform which is aimed
to re-fresh the current Kaveri APUs with the new 8000 series branding
will be featured across 12 new processors utilizing the x86 Steamroller
core and GCN graphics architecture.

As for performance and clock speeds, the clock speeds will obviously get a slight bump since that is what’s the refresh is all about. The chips will retain their TDPs. As for the performance, it will be anywhere from 5-15% better than the current Kaveri APUs due to better driver support and improved clock speeds. Other details are not known at the moment but AMD will have an official announcement made during the same time as 2015’s Computex event. Aside from Godavari, the main announcement coming from AMD this year will be the new AMD Radeon graphics cards which will deliver insanely huge performance increases over the current Radeon generation of cards.
In total, AMD is going to launch 12 new APUs, 10 of which are part of the A-Series family while two are part of the Athlon series family. The specifications of some chips are listed below while full specifications can be found in the table provided at the end of this article:
AMD A10-8850K APU:
The AMD A10-8850K is the flagship APU of the lineup featuring a 4 core and 4 thread design. The chip boasts a clock speed of 3.7 GHz base and 4.1 GHz boost while featuring an unlocked design for overclocking. The chip is featuring the Radeon R7 graphics core based off the Sea Islands GCN architecture that has 512 streaming cores and a clock speed of 856 MHz. The chip will feature 4 MB of L2 cache, 95W TDP and DDR3 memory support of up to 2133 MHz. It will feature a price close to the current generation A10-7850K APU at around $149 US and will likely get better performance and efficiency.AMD A10-8750 APU:
The AMD A10-8750 features a 4 core and 4 thread design. The chip boasts a clock speed of 3.7 GHz base and 4.1 GHz boost however no unlocked design is featured for overclocking. The chip is featuring the Radeon R7 graphics core based off the Sea Islands GCN architecture that has 512 streaming cores and a clock speed of 800 MHz. The chip will feature 4 MB of L2 cache, 95W TDP and DDR3 memory support of up to 2133 MHz.AMD A8-8650 APU:
The AMD A8-8650 features a 4 core and 4 thread design. The chip boasts a clock speed of 3.2 GHz base and 3.8 GHz boost however no unlocked design is featured for overclocking. The chip is featuring the Radeon R7 graphics core based off the Sea Islands GCN architecture that has 384 streaming cores and a clock speed of 760 MHz. The chip will feature 4 MB of L2 cache, 45/65W Configurable TDP and DDR3 memory support of up to 2133 MHz.AKD A6-8550K APU:
The AMD A6-8550K features a 2 core and 2 thread design. The chip boasts a clock speed of 3.1 GHz base and 3.5 GHz boost while an unlocked design is featured for overclocking. The chip is featuring the Radeon R5 graphics core based off the Sea Islands GCN architecture that has 256streaming cores with a clock speed that is yet to be determined. The chip will feature 2 MB of L2 cache, 45/65W Configurable TDP and DDR3 memory support of up to 2133 MHz.AMD Athlon X4 870K:
The Athlon X4 870K is the flagship part replacing the Athlon X4 860K with a quad core design that has clock speed of 3.5 GHz base and 3.7 GHz boost.. The chip has 4 MB of L2 cache, a 95W TDP and DDR3 memory support that are rated up to 2133 MHz.
