AMD Godavari APU Lineup Leaked – A10-8850K To Lead The Pack, 12 APUs Planned For Summer 2015

AMD’s upcoming Godavari APU lineup has been leaked by VR-Zone ahead of its launch in summer, this year. The new Godavari APU which are also known to be part of the Kaveri-Refresh platform which is aimed to re-fresh the current Kaveri APUs with the new 8000 series branding will be featured across 12 new processors utilizing the x86 Steamroller core and GCN graphics architecture.

AMD Godavari APU “Kaveri-Refresh” Lineup Leaked – A10-8850K Flagship APU

First of all, being simply known as the Kaveri-Refresh platform, Godavari will feature the same architectural enhancements as Kaveri with the same CPU and GPU cores. We are talking about x86 Steamroller and GCN here which have already been fused on the current AMD A-7000 Series offerings. Godavari will retain the maximum four x86 core and 512 stream processor design and will be available in several variants as a part to refresh the current A-Series lineup. AMD is going to use the latest 8000 series branding for the new chips and will stick to the FM2+ platform supporting DDR3 memory at 2133 MHz. The current motherboards will be able to support the new chips without any problems with new BIOS updates rolling out prior to launch.

As for performance and clock speeds, the clock speeds will obviously get a slight bump since that is what’s the refresh is all about. The chips will retain their TDPs. As for the performance, it will be anywhere from 5-15% better than the current Kaveri APUs due to better driver support and improved clock speeds. Other details are not known at the moment but AMD will have an official announcement made during the same time as 2015’s Computex event. Aside from Godavari, the main announcement coming from AMD this year will be the new AMD Radeon graphics cards which will deliver insanely huge performance increases over the current Radeon generation of cards.
In total, AMD is going to launch 12 new APUs, 10 of which are part of the A-Series family while two are part of the Athlon series family. The specifications of some chips are listed below while full specifications can be found in the table provided at the end of this article:
